The north Indian region of Ladakh is barren and rocky,
a cold desert. The biggest problem for the people is like it is in any desert – shortage of water. For many years, Chewang Norphel, saw the difficult circumstances of the farmers in Ladakh and wished to help them in some way.
Today, he builds artificial glaciers which provide water to the farmers in summer through an innovative engineering process of channelizing main water resources.
